As many of you know, on November 16th, I’ll be trading in my golf shoes for sailing boots and will join Team UNICEF as we slip lines in Cape Town South Africa for Leg 3 of Clipper Round The World in support of UNICEF.
The Clipper Round the World is a biennial sailing race in which 10 teams compete aboard 70ft Clipper yachts, navigating eight offshore legs to complete a full circumnavigation of the globe.
Leg 3 of the Clipper Race, sailing across The Southern Ocean’s ‘Roaring Forties’, is considered the ’Holy Grail’ of sailing, known for extreme conditions, including massive waves and strong winds. It's a remote and isolating experience, that will push our crew to its limits during the 4,800nm passage to Western Australia.
