Story
In August 2026, I’ll be running the 42.2km of Sydney Marathon to raise money for Sport in Mind - an incredible charity that uses the power of sport and physical activity to support people experiencing mental health challenges.
Sport can have a huge impact on mental wellbeing. It helps people build confidence, reduce isolation, and find moments of joy during difficult times. But not everyone has the support, resources, or confidence to take that first step. That’s where Sport in Mind comes in. Through their sessions and programmes, they provide safe and welcoming spaces where people can use sport and movement to improve their mental health.
My own running journey started in October 2024 when I ran the Bournemouth 10k. Since then, I’ve completed another 10k and three half marathons, and now I’m taking on my biggest challenge yet.
For me, running is more than just exercise. When I’m not feeling my best mentally, getting outside for a run can be the reset I need. Choosing to take on difficult challenges reminds me that I’m capable of more than I think, and every mile helps build resilience and strength.
By running the Sydney Marathon, I hope to raise money so that more people can experience the positive impact that sport and movement can have on their mental health.
If you’re able to donate, any amount big or small will make a real difference. Your support will help Sport in Mind continue their incredible work and will motivate me every step of the way to the finish line.
Thank you so much for your support.
