Story
Hello, my name is Dylan Cairns and I will be running the 2026 London Marathon in support of Weston Park Cancer Charity — a charity that means the world to both me and my family.
In 2010, my grandad, Tony Sheppeck, was diagnosed with head and neck cancer. Thanks to the incredible treatment and therapeutic services provided by Weston Park, he was able to ring the bell and has thankfully been cancer-free for many years. Since then, he has dedicated so much of his time to fundraising as a way of saying thank you for saving his life. Watching his commitment over the years has inspired me to follow in his footsteps.
More recently, in early 2025, my grandma, Wendy Taylor, was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Once again, Weston Park were there every step of the way — not only providing outstanding medical care, but offering compassion, reassurance, and a listening ear whenever it was needed.
I am incredibly grateful to be running the 2026 London Marathon to give something back to Weston Park for everything they have done for my family and so many others.
Any donation, no matter the size, would mean the world to me and will help Weston Park continue their life-saving and life-changing work.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for supporting my journey.
Dylan
