Story

This September, I’ll be taking on the London to Brighton Cycle Ride for the third time, raising funds for the Children’s Services Ward at St. George’s Hospital in London. This incredible department supports the care and wellbeing of children in so many ways, including the amazing Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

I’m doing this in memory of my son, Dylan, who passed away in July 2023 following a tragic accident at his home. He was taken by Air Ambulance to St George's and spent 4 nights under the care of the amazing staff at PICU.

The staff at PICU cared for Dylan during the 4 most difficult nights of our lives and the skill, care and compassion of the staff that cared not only for Dylan but to everyone who came to Dylan's bedside will stay with us. Dylan was a kind and caring boy who would do anything to help anyone, especially other children and so Dylan's Legacy was started, raising money for PICU in his name so that other children and their families can continue to receive the care they deserve.

London to Brighton is an iconic ride from Clapham Common in the capital to the coast with some fantastic scenery along the route and of course the brutal climb up Ditchling Beacon before descending down onto the sea front by Brighton Pier. This year, I’ll be using an action camera to record my training rides and the London to Brighton ride itself, sharing the journey as I go and keeping Dylan’s memory at the heart of every mile and pedal stroke.

If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, it would mean so much. Every contribution helps support the incredible work that is carried out throughout the Children's Services and doing so in Dylan's name.

Thank you for reading, for supporting, and for helping me ride for Dylan
