Story
My magical firstborn, Dylan, turned five years old on 18th November 2025. Dyl is an adorable cheeky little boy who changed our lives forever and continues to touch the world, even though he was with us for only 37 precious days. Becoming Dylan’s mother transformed me as a person, he is my biggest gift and his light continues to shape our family.
To celebrate his fifth birthday and to continue his legacy, I am running the London Marathon 2026 in his honour and I will be raising vital funds for the Evelina Children's Hospital!
Dylan passed away in my arms on Christmas Eve 2020 after fighting with every ounce of strength he had. My husband, Nick, and I promised that his legacy would be so much more than the 37 days he spent with us. Those 37 days were filled with overwhelming love, courage and unimaginable pain. They were also filled with the extraordinary care, compassion and the dedication of the Evelina teams who looked after Dylan with so much love and tenderness. They were by our side guiding us through every moment of hope and heartbreak.
Dylan was born with multiple vulnerabilities and to this day we still do not know what happened to our boy. What we do know is that the care he received gave him dignity, comfort and a chance to fight. Since losing Dylan, we have made it our life’s mission to ensure that his light reaches other babies and families who are walking a similar path. There isn't a moment that goes by that I don't desperately miss my sweet boy. He lives on in our hearts always looking out for his little sister, Olive and little brother, Blake.
We are a proud Evelina family! To date, we have raised almost £77,000 via our charity, Dylan’s Pals (www.dylanspals.com), money which we know has had a transformative impact on rebuilding the neonatal unit as well as providing revolutionary neonatal medicine to babies like our boy. We massively thank our family, friends, strangers we've never met - you are all the kindest souls who are making such an unbelievably positive impact.
Our dream is that the next vulnerable baby like Dylan has the chance to grow up and that families like ours feel supported, understood and never alone.
Thank you for your amazingly generous support and for helping me keep my boy's story alive! Our lifelong fundraising efforts will help and support vulnerable babies as we try to help each and every one of Dylan's Pals.♥️🐨♥️
I will be posting regular updates on my marathon training here! THANK YOU!
