Our Suicide Crisis Centres offer a safe place where individuals are supported and helped through a crisis. We are open 24 hours a day for people at high risk of suicide. We have been providing services since 2013 and have never had a suicide of a client under our care.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 06.09.2025, I’ll be running the sea2sky 53km ultramarathon in memory of my incredible mum, who sadly lost her life to suicide after a long and painful struggle with mental health. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her, and this run is my way of honouring her life, her strength, and the love she gave so generously, even when she was suffering silently.

But this run isn’t just for her, it’s for everyone who is battling mental health issues, for anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed, hopeless, or like the pain will never end. I want to use this opportunity to raise awareness, to start conversations, and to help remove the stigma that so often surrounds mental health. Too many people suffer in silence, afraid to speak out or ask for help. I want those people to know you are not alone.

Counselling has played a huge role in my own journey. After losing my mum, I went through a dark and difficult time, and it was through counselling that I began to process the pain, understand my grief, and slowly start to heal. Having someone to talk to, someone who listened without judgment, truly helped me find my way forward. I know from personal experience how powerful and life-saving that support can be.

That’s why I’m fundraising to support organisations that offer vital mental health services, including counselling, to those who need it most. Everyone deserves access to that kind of help, because it can give someone the strength to hold on when everything feels too heavy, and the hope they thought they had lost.

If you’re going through something right now, please hold on. I know it can feel like there’s no way out, but I promise you, there is always hope. There is always help. Life does get better. There is light at the end of the tunnel, even if you can’t see it yet. Suicide is not the only answer, even when your mind is telling you otherwise. You are loved, you are needed, and the world is a better place with you in it.

By supporting this cause, you’re helping fund the kind of care and counselling that can truly change and save lives. Thank you for standing with me, for my mum, and for everyone who’s ever struggled.
