Story

This page is for supporting the relief and rescue efforts in Turkey, please scroll down to see useful links to also support the same efforts in Syria.

----------------------------------------------------

Dear friends, colleagues and wider global community,

As many of you may have heard, Turkey had two earthquakes to the magnitude of 7.8 and 7.5 with continuing aftershocks. Many hospitals are reduced to rubble and the number of houses demolished rises continuously. We have lost tens of thousands and the loss continues to grow, scores are injured and hundreds of thousands are made homeless by these catastrophes.

It is winter in the southeast with snow and icy conditions with weather measuring as low as -6. Civil society in Turkey are trying their best to support everyone effected through rescue and relief efforts.

The best way you can help right now is by donating to local organizations working on the ground. The target on this page is arbitrary, please keep supporting as much as you can as we will need all the help we can get.

All the money raised will go to the Turkey Mozaik Foundation, a UK based charity which is very experienced in supporting civil society during catastrophe in Turkey.

They have previously provided monetary support to important and highly effective organizations on the ground in previous earthquakes and their bridging function will no doubt maximize our impact from outside of Turkey.

If you would like to know more about this work, do send me a message. If you know a way we can get the word out more, do get in touch!

Please donate and share widely with your networks to support people affected.

Solidarity and love from us!

PLEASE DONATE TO HELP US SUPPORT PEOPLE ON THE GROUND.

READ ON TO SUPPORT RELIEF EFFORTS IN NORTHERN SYRIA:

The earthquakes' affects in northern Syria is deeply saddening and we grieve for the losses of lives for everyone affected there along with the people in Southeastern Turkey, both mainly Kurdish regions. Just like in Turkey, thousands are waiting to be rescued in Syria and many more need relief support. The Guardian has recently recorded 300,000 displaced people in Syria as a direct result of the earthquakes. I hope that you will support the rescue efforts there as well.

The winter conditions are continuing with -6 recorded on the thermometers. Please donate/share these links so organisations can supply basic needs to the survivors and can resource equipment to rescue those waiting under the rubble.
