10km walk around Londons Landmarks · 4 June 2025

New College Worcester is a national, residential, independent special school for young people aged 11-19, who are blind or vision impaired. Each student has an individually tailored programme involving their education, independent living skills together with a range of extracurricular activities.

Story

On Wednesday 4th June, the East England Real Estate Team will be joined by various members of the Senior Leadership- and Treasury Teams for a 10km walk around some of London’s most iconic landmarks. Following the Thames, the walk is in aid of two wonderful Charities:

New College Worcester (NCW): NCW is the only residential school in England that offers blind children an adapted education and the opportunity to thrive. In 2023, one of our colleagues sons, Zac, went through a real mental health crisis. Blind and autistic but cognitive & highly capable, mainstream schooling was just not able to provide the level of support Zac needed.

After a lengthy battle, Zac was placed at NCW and it’s like a light-bulb was turned on immediately. In an environment geared-up to his requirements, Zac has a new lease of life, not just academically, but as a person. NCW has bettered Zac’s life on so many levels.

With Local Authority funding cuts, NCW- a UK registered charity- relies more on donations than ever before.

Crisis UK: Crisis is the Banks charity of the year. Crisis helps as many of the UK’s 230,000 individuals and families as possible who are facing homelessness, plus another 2-million who are living in poor conditions. Crisis provides year-round support, not just with the housing but through education, employment advice and well-being services.

If you can spare a few Pounds, maybe a note, every Penny really does make a difference.
