Acorns supports around 750 children and almost 1,000 families every year. The charity needs to raise £11 million each year to provide its lifeline care. Your support means Acorns can continue to be there for local families facing the unimaginable. Together, we are stronger.

Story

On Friday, our East Park school community will be raising money for Acorns Children’s Hospice in memory of Rueben Mills, younger brother of Alfie in Year 3. Rueben, affectionately known as Roo to those who loved him, was diagnosed with a rare disease called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy when he was 2 years old that led to a gradual loss of mobility and speech. Roo passed away earlier this year at the young age of 7 and although Roo never got the chance to attend East Park, he is a young boy who is very close to our hearts.
