Story

East Kent Spurs Official Supporters Club – Supporting Legend-on-the-Bench in 2025

At East Kent Spurs, we pride ourselves on being more than just football fans — we’re a community and a family.

In 2025, we’re coming together with one clear aim: to raise as much money as possible for the incredible charity Legend-on-the-Bench.

Legend-on-the-Bench was founded by Spurs legend Micky Hazard and his sister Michelle, following the heartbreaking loss of Michelle’s son, Jason Lee Mead. Their mission is powerful and urgent: to combat mental health struggles and prevent suicides by placing specially designed benches in parks across the UK — each one a beacon of hope, equipped with contact numbers, QR codes linking to vital support, and gentle lighting to guide someone through their darkest hour.

Throughout 2025, East Kent Spurs members will be taking on various challenges to support this worthwhile cause.

Already planned:

* 72 Holes of Golf – The Longest Day Challenge being carried out by Ray Berry, George Prophet, Matt Jack, Ashley Penney, Martin Baker, Justin McKinnon, Neil Franklin and Lee Simpson on Friday 4th July 2025 at North Foreland.

* A Charity Skydive by our brave member Darren Page on July 18th 2025.

* A charity 12.5 mile walk followed by an abseil off the top of the Spurs stadium on 28th June 2025.

This JustGiving page will serve as the central fundraising hub for all our efforts, and any East Kent Spurs member who wishes to support this beautiful cause through their own activities can do so here on this page.

We know times are tough — but even a small donation could help change, or even save, a life.

In 2025 East Kent Spurs plans to unite as a Spurs family/community to shine a light for those who need it most.
