Story

On the 26th April 2026, I’m taking on the TCS London Marathon in support of the incredible Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

CHSW provides respite, palliative, and end-of-life care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families, a cause that is very close to my heart.

My little sister Esmé was born in 2019, and in her 6 years of life she has already battled more than most of us ever will. She was born with Down’s Syndrome, transient leukaemia, and complete AVSD (a congenital heart defect). At 2 months old, she went into complete heart failure (no underlying heart rate) and required oxygen 24/7 for 8 months. At 5 months old, she had an open heart surgery which left her in complete heart block, resulting in having a permanent pacemaker fitted 3 weeks later. When she was 18 months old, she developed AML (childhood leukaemia), and underwent intense chemotherapy for 7 months. She became very unwell during her chemo, and we nearly lost her multiple times. She even developed sepsis! Esmé is now at a high risk of developing secondary cancer before the age of 15. Since her chemo, she has spent years in and out of hospital with chest infections, RSV, and other breathing difficulties. Her pacemaker broke, requiring emergency surgery for a new one to be fitted, and we are currently waiting to find out if she needs another surgery as her current pacemaker has began to play up.

Throughout this, CHSW has been there for my family, providing us with respite care at their incredible hospice, Little Bridge House. The team at Little Bridge are some of the most compassionate, kind, caring people you could ever meet. The work they do is more than just care, it’s comfort, support, and magic at the darkest of times.

I am running as a massive thank you to everyone at Children’s Hospice South West, for the remarkable support they have provided for Esmé and my family, and every single other family that require their services. Words fail me to be able to say thank you for everything you have done for my family.

I would love to raise as much money as possible for this incredible charity and the life-changing work they do every single day. Every pound donated goes towards making life a little brighter for families that need it the most.

Any support is greatly appreciated - whether it is by donating, sharing, or cheering me on.

This run is for Esmé, my family, and every single family that are supported by CHSW.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
