Ed Cox is raising money for Justlife

Tissington Trail Half Marathon

Justlife is a charity working exclusively with people experiencing homelessness in Temporary Accommodation (TA). Locally, we offer people the immediate support they need, while also driving systemic change nationally to improve conditions and reduce the use of TA in the long term.

Story

I’m running the Tissington Trail half marathon on the 19th September to raise money for Justlife’s Social Connection Project (SCP), a project that supports people who have experienced homelessness to rebuild their lives, relationships and sense of belonging.

Getting a roof over your head should be the end of homelessness. But for many people, it isn’t. After the upheaval and trauma of homelessness, moving into accommodation can mean starting again with very little: few possessions, fractured relationships and no support network around you. Loneliness and isolation can make it incredibly difficult to move forward. Justlife’s Social Connection Project is there at that crucial point, helping people build friendships, confidence and connections in their community so that a new home can genuinely become the beginning of a new life.

Right now, the future of this project is at risk. That’s why I’m putting myself through 13.1 miles! I want my run to help keep this vital support going for people who need it. Every donation, whatever the size, will help Justlife fight for the future of the Social Connection Project. So please sponsor me if you can, and help make every one of those miles count. Thank you.
