Story
fhn is an international NGO that has been working to help develop rural communities for 25 years. Our main focus is providing health care, and using local people to provide this care. We are also involved in myriad community development projects such as education, fresh water provision, sanitation, reforestation etc. We are currently working in Ecuador, Ghana, Nepal and Rwanda.
We are currently building a school in Boamadumase, Ghana. We are very keen to support the provision of reliable education in the region. It has been many years in the planning.
There are thousands of children in the communities we work with with who are lacking any kind of structured education. The school site will grow in the coming years to be an educational hub for all the surrounding villages. We hope to not only to support the teaching of school children, but also adults who missed out on secondary school.
This ties in with our ethos of trying to educate and empower younger people to be able to choose a future of their choice.
We have raised lots of money by other means to get the building to shoulder height.
We need a few thousand more to complete the build and put a roof on.
Therefore, our friend, Victor is attempting to swim the attempting to swim from Ireland to the Isle of Man. Up to 32 hours trying to swim 70 (Seventy) Kilometres.
NO HUMAN HAS COMPLETED THIS SWIM
Thank you Victor, you massive brave hero, for even attempting such a dangerous and long swim to raise us money. We wish you al the mental and physical strength to complete this Herculean task.
