Ed Griffith is raising money for The Natalie Kate Moss Trust

adidas Manchester Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Our mission is to save lives with groundbreaking research, education and information about brain haemorrhages. Every penny raised for the Manchester Marathon will support our goal of funding one full year of brain haemorrhage research in 2025.

Story

We work to help PREVENT brain haemorrhages from happening and fund ground-breaking research to TREAT them when they do.

Not all brain haemorrhages are preventable.

But some are.

At The Natalie Kate Moss Trust we want to Prevent the Preventable.

We firmly believe that we can prevent more tragedies from occurring through educating and empowering more people to better understand why brain haemorrhages happen so that they can take back control of their own health.

I'm running the Manchester Marathon to raise funds for the excellent cause. Any donation is gratefully received.

I chose this charity for two reasons. Firstly, we lost my uncle to a brain haemorrhage nearly four decades ago. It is shocking that survival rates today have barely improved, and I wanted to try to contribute to the efforts to do something about that. Secondly, this charity was set up in honour of a student who lost her life at a tragically young age. I work every day with amazing students at the University of Central Lancashire and I want to do something proactive to help educate and support them about the risks of a brain haemorrhage.

The marathon is a public test of private will. It is not completed on the day, but in the months prior in the training to get myself in shape to get over the line. I'm working on this and anything you can give along the way to support this mission will help with my motivation to carry on.

I last attempted a marathon in 2017. I got injured in the weeks prior to the run and although I made it to the finish line, it was the worst thing I've ever done. I swore I would never put myself through it again but I also have always felt that I would like to somehow make amends with a better attempt. I won't be fast, but I hope I can do myself and my supporters justice.
