Story
I am running 2 half marathons to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.
As some of you know, I am a survivor of this brutal disease myself. Diagnosed in Italy, operated on in the UK, and blasted with radiation/chemotherapy in Australia, I have received exceptional care every step of the way.
Now that 3 years have passed since the beginning, and 2 years have passed since I finished up my treatment, it finally feels like the right time to give back.
Brain Tumour Research funds long-term, sustainable research at dedicated UK centres, aiming to improve survival rates and treatment options for people affected by brain tumours. It remains the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40. Their work helps close the significant funding gap compared to other cancers and gives hope to families facing this devastating diagnosis.
In the course of my journey, there has been significant strain on my mental health. By taking on this running challenge, I hope to improve my lifestyle through running and inspire others to run, whilst supporting a cause very close to my heart.
Leg 1: Guernsey Half Marathon 14th September
Leg 2: Ipswich Half Marathon 21st September (my home town 💙)
Whatever you can afford, all donations are so welcomed and so very appreciated.
