Why We’re Putting Ourselves Through 26.2 Miles of Torture!
When Ed’s dad lost his sight following his strokes, Blind Veterans UK offered practical guidance, provided training, and connected him with others who’d been through similar experiences.
So when we didn’t get in through the London Marathon ballot but saw Blind Veterans UK on the list of charities offering places, we looked at each other and thought “We can’t say no to that!” Sure, we may have only run 5km, 10km and half marathons before (and have a bit of fluff to lose), but we’ve got a year to sort that out! 😂
We’re not stopping at just the marathon though - we’re putting ourselves through Tough Mudders (😩) reopening the doors to Nic’s bakery (🤤) and donating every penny from sales, plus loads of other fundraising ideas we’re cooking up (😉). Basically, we’re throwing everything at this to raise as much money as possible! 🙌
You can follow our training journey (the good, the bad, and the sweaty) on our Instagram Page - @edniclondon26 and watch us slowly transform from couch potatoes into actual marathon runners (and muddy obstacle course warriors 💪) - which should be pretty entertaining! 😂
Every pound you donate goes to helping more veterans get the support they deserve during difficult times.
Thanks for supporting us (and them) - it means the world. 💙
