In a time when so many children have so much it’s sometimes easy to forget the families and children who have so little.

I was recently introduced to Kidsbank Chester by a friend and when I had the privilege of going to see this charity in action, I was overwhelmed by the sheer scale of help that is needed but also by the love and care that the staff and volunteers put into the service they provide.

Families needing support from Kidsbank Chester face a range of challenges through no fault of their own, some of which include domestic violence, unemployment and homelessness. Some of the stories I heard when I visited were heartbreaking.

From birth to secondary school and all years in between, this charity provides everything a family could need from nappies, formula and clothing to prams, bedding and toiletries.

All items and clothing required by a family in need is lovingly cleaned, ironed and then packaged as a gift which I think is a nice touch and makes the process of asking for help a more positive one.

I cannot put into words the good this charity does or the amount of people it tries to reach but what I can do is push myself both physically and mentally and to ask for your support by way of donation in doing so. All support, no matter how small, gives me the determination and focus to achieve my goal.

Whatever you can give to help this worthy cause will mean the world to so many. Do not underestimate how much difference a couple of pound can make to a family in need or how far it can go.
