Story
Love and magical sensations charity walk
As a lot of you will know, last year my amazing wife Sarah, was suddenly diagnosed with end stage liver cancer and her prognosis was a bleak 1-2 weeks to live.
As with her life, Sarah took her death by the horns and she took charge.
She decided how this was going to play out.
Sarah never used Nightingale house to die in but she was passionate about registering with the hospice for us all to use their services if we needed to.
We, as a family would like to take something from this awful situation and turn it into a positive and raise as much money as possible for the fantastic work that they do at Nightingale house.
We will be walking the 203 miles from Leeds to Llangollen along the canals over a 9 day period.
That’s just short of 23 miles per day. 7 Furlongs and 116 locks.
Every day that Sarah battled this cruel disease to do the everyday tasks such as getting washed, dressed and getting down the stairs to eat a meal as a family she said it was like running a marathon so we are honouring her courageous battle by taking on this challenge.
Please donate anything you can and support us in our goal.
Thank you.
Love and magical sensations 💖
For 30 years, staff at Nightingale House Hospice have created an environment that gives patients and their loved ones quality time to spend together. Not having to worry about the care a loved one receives, knowing they are in safe hands, means every second spent together is dignified and peaceful. Without support such as yours, our specialist palliative care units wouldn’t be able to deliver such high standards.
