Eddie is being recognised as a Local Hero Award winner by Westport Veterinary Clinic, for his devotion and dedication to fundraising, raising a phenomenal amount of money for charities by running marathons.
Eddie has now raised an incredible £66,200! And he is not stopping there - he continues to strive to raise as much as he can for causes close to his heart. Aiming to reach £70K in 2024 and continuing to his ultimate goal to raise £100K.
As Eddie works tirelessly getting such a momentous amounts of money by himself for his charities doing face to face sponsorship fundraising, we have set up an online fundraising page to help with contributions to his charity digitally.
Eddie says:
“It's my 14th year fundraising for Breast Cancer. All the money I have raised has all been done face-to-face. Every penny I have raised has been done by me and always face to face. The sponsorship work put into these is more work than the marathon!”
"I've done 10 marathons, running two Edinburgh, two Stirling, Manchester, Liverpool, London, Berlin, New York and Chicago.
The next runs coming up this year are the Great North Run and Newcastle, then Glasgow after that! Once I have done Tokyo and Boston Marathon that will be me having done the 6 Majors in the World Marathon series. I've ran 4 of the majors so far - London, Berlin, New York and Chicago."
"Its just what gets me round, doing the marathons I'm just thinking about the money for the charities and that's what gets me to the end.”
This page has been set up to raise money for Breast Cancer Now - Eddie's primary charity and we are leaving donation date open for anyone who would like to help support his incredible efforts, as well as the invaluable work that Breast Cancer Now does in their research, and for their care and support for those who are battling it.
