Story
This September, I’m taking on a personal and physical challenge to support a cause close to my heart — The Cyber Helpline, a charity that provides free, expert advice to victims of cybercrime and online harm.
As Head of Advice at The Cyber Helpline, I’ve seen firsthand how devastating cybercrime can be. From online fraud and hacking to harassment and stalking, the impact on victims is often invisible but deeply personal. Our team helps people navigate these crises, offering guidance, reassurance, and practical support when they need it most
🏔️ Climb for Cyber Support!
We’ve split into teams to take on an epic challenge: climbing the equivalent of Mount Everest (58,070 steps) as many times as possible within just 30 days! 🏔
From 1st to 30th September, I’ll be walking and running the equivalent elevation of Mount Everest — that’s 8,848 metres — across 30 days. Every day, I’ll climb to the top of Reburn, and on weekends, I’ll tackle some of Northern Ireland’s most scenic hills. It’s a tough challenge, but nothing compared to what victims of cybercrime go through.
🏃♂️ Half Marathon Training
On top of the Everest challenge, I’m also training for a half marathon this month. It’s my way of pushing myself physically while standing in solidarity with those who’ve been impacted by cybercrime.
💙 Why It Matters
Cybercrime affects millions of people every year — and many don’t know where to turn. The Cyber Helpline is often their first lifeline. By supporting this challenge, you’re helping us continue to provide free, accessible, and expert help to those in need.
Whether you donate, share, or cheer me on — thank you for being part of this journey.
That’s where The Cyber Helpline comes in—providing free, expert support from the cyber security community to help victims get back on their feet. With your help, we aim to raise £13,000 to expand their reach and increase the number of volunteers supporting those in need.
Every climb we complete is a step towards safety, resilience, and hope. 💙
Please donate and help us make a difference.
