In 2016, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Cyst Syndrome (PCOS) after a struggle with irregular periods and severe weight gain. I had never heard of PCOS before and the doctors seemed to know very little on how to actually what causes it or how to manage it outside medication. When doing my own research, I found Verity which provided a lot of reassurance, support and helpful information on what PCOS is and how it can affect you.

Nine years on, I have successfully got the weight under control through medication, diet and weight training but there is still a lot of uncertainties on how it will affect my future. Charities like Verity are essential to help fund research into female medical issues like this and provide worldwide support to females who face these issues.

On the 4th May 2025, I will be running the Belfast marathon not only to raise money for Verity but also give myself a challenge that 22 year old me never thought she would do. Any donations would be amazing - thank you so much.
