Story
I have decided to make the decision to run the RunThrough Alton Towers 5k which takes place on Sunday 17th November, with absolutely no training! I've been considering this for a few months, and felt I was ready to commit to it.
I have decided to raise some money for Beat, which are the UK's eating disorder charity. Beat supports anyone with an eating disorder, their friends and family, as well as professionals working with or worried about an individual in their care. Eating disorders affect people of all ages and backgrounds and 1.25 million people in the UK have a diagnosed eating disorder.
As someone who is currently in recovery from an eating disorder, Beat have helped me significantly, and I have even recently become weight restored! As well as this, this event takes place in November, which is Men's Mental Health Month, and up to one in four sufferers are male, I felt this was a very important charity to raise awareness for. This is especially as there is a lot of stigma surrounding men who suffer with eating disorders and disordered eating.
Any contributions would be appreciated, even something as little as £1! All money goes directly to Beat, so you can be sure your money is going to them!
