Story

In April I will be taking on the challenge of running the Paris marathon (after completing London marathon last year) & I will be raising money for the MS Trust Charity. This is a charity super close to my heart whom supports people living with MS to make sense of the diagnosis and support them to know they’re not alone.

Recently a close friend at just the age of 23, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a life long condition that affects the brain, spine and nerves.

They developed a constant dull headache that lasted for around a month, experienced vision problems that included blurred vision in one eye & intense pain during eye movement. During this, they had countless GP appointments which led to a referral to Neurology. After no improvement, they went to A&E which led being admitted to hospital, multiple tests and a diagnosis of MS was given within 3 days.

The MS trust is a charity that helps to support those diagnosed to navigate their journey with MS from the day of diagnosis, tomorrow and beyond. With the support of funding charities like MS Trust they support evidence based research to help find new medicines, new services to help mental health services & fund MS specialist nurses. Currently, over 103,688 people with MS live in areas where there are not enough MS nurses to look after everyone.

A few facts:

-Relapsing Remitting MS is commonly diagnosed to people within their early 20s.

-MS is 3x more common in females than males.

-1 in every 450 people in England have MS.

I would really appreciate any donations to support an amazing cause.
