Story
I'm participating in the World AIDS Day RED RUN 2024 in support of PrEPster!
About Prepster:
PrEPster is a program of The Love Tank, a not-for-profit community interest community (CIC) that promotes the health and wellbeing of under-served communities through education, capacity building and research.
Most recently, the Love Tank have produced a guide on Puberty Blockers, which is vital given the UK government's decision to ban this life-changing treatment for young trans people. Without mainstream access to blockers, children and families have no choice but to look for alternative sources, and the guide helps with these as well as providing information about the health markers that should be monitored (and which GPs won't do if the medicine itself has been banned!). This is harm reduction for treatment that is genuinely life saving. I know this first hand, as I went on blockers at 14. I hate to think where I would be had I not been able to access them. Many trans children are in that position now, and it's organisations like the Love Tank that need support in creating guides like this (alongside others on chemsex, steroids, doxypep, etc).
Through PrEPster's work specifically, they aim to educate and agitate for PrEP access and improve the sexual health in England and beyond. www.prepster.info
About the RED RUN:
Held annually on the last Saturday in November, the World AIDS Day RED RUN is a charity fun run and walk that unites the HIV sector to raise awareness and vital funds for HIV support and prevention projects across the county.
