Edie's Marathon fundraiser for The Polycystic Kidney Disease Charity

Edie Hawtin is raising money for The Polycystic Kidney Disease Charity

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Team PKD will be taking to the streets of London once again in 2026 to complete the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon.

Story

In April of 2026 I will be taking on the London Marathon to raise money and awareness for the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) charity.

PKD is a hereditary condition that runs in my family. My Dad, Grandma and Uncles have all been affected by it. My dad received a kidney from his own dad and my uncle was given a transplant thanks to his sister through a kidney swap with another family.

Because PKD is inherited, there’s a chance I may have it too. Right now, I’m grateful for my health and the opportunity to take on this challenge.

Unfortunately there’s still no cure for PKD - but the PKD charity is working hard to change that. They fund vital research, support families and raise awareness of the condition affecting thousands of people across the UK.

Running the London Marathon is a way of honouring my family’s journey and helping others who are living with PKD today and in the future.

Any donation big or small will make a big difference. Thank you very much for the support.
