The Summer has come to an end (with a bang and some pretty yucky weather).

But don't let that fool you, we bring all the get up and go needed for another fantastic year at Edmund Waller.

To kick off the year, we have a lovely team of parents braving all weathers to run the Big Half which takes place in Central London on Sunday 7th September 2025.

As well as setting personal targets, these runners are out to raise money for the school.

The PTA and all you parents have helped sponsor some fantastic projects at school recently, most notably Ahlberg kitchen which is nearly ready for you all to see. (It looks amazing, and we cannot wait for the children to get to use it.)

So our next fundraising target is OPAL Play.

OPAL stands for Outdoor Play and Learning and it is a mentor-supported school improvement programme addressing how a school can sustainably improve the quality of play.

The school have had multiple meetings planning the most amazing outcome for the children's playground and with the dedication of Mrs Shaw we will power full steam ahead this year to make the children's playtimes the best they can be. With potential mud kitchens and sand pits for all (not just Reception), toys and cosy corners, we are confident that this will help all the children with all school aspects, notably behaviour and concentration. And for this we need help from you lovely parents and friends of Edmund Waller. Expect a few emails asking for specific toy donations, helping us source sustainable materials, but also monetary donations will be appreciated to help with buying some new things.
