Story
Happy return after a hopefully restful Summer.
It wouldn't be September without Edmund Waller having a group of dedicated parents and teachers braving the streets of the capital for London’s Big Half. They’ll either be running this by relay or doing the full shebang individually this coming Sunday 6th September 2026.
Whatever way they are running, this clearly represents a huge personal challenge. As well as this, we are using this to raise funds for the playground’s latest arrival – our shiny green Scrap Store Play Pod. This new addition will allow the children’s creativity to go wild, building dens, forts, castles etc. Basically, if they can think it, they can try to build it!!
The Play Pod is much more than a shed! It comes with training for staff, a regularly replenished stock of boxes, tubes and other recycled ‘loose parts’ and is designed to make our OPAL playground even better. It also represents a £15,000 investment by the school into improving all children’s playtimes.
So, for all those who can, let’s show our love and support for the running crew. You can make a donation - no matter how small (or LARGE!) - via this page.
We can’t wait to share the development of this space and would like to thank you all, in advance, for all of your support.
If you’re free this coming Sunday, the 6th September come and join us in supporting those running the Big Half.
If your child would like to design a “Big Half Cheer Sign” to support the runners on the day, please collect one from the school office by Friday afternoon...
