Story
We are a group of colleagues within Education Services at Manchester Metropolitan University who are undertaking the National Three Peak Challenge, climbing Ben Nevis (1,345m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) (1085m) - the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales.
The group consists of Christopher Bingley, Helen Kirby-Hawkins, Joshua Riggs, Kamran Inayat, Samantha Partington, Stuart Cannell and Sue Brown. We will also be joined by some friends, family and two dogs.
We will start the morning of Saturday 15th July and climb through the day and night, finishing on Sunday 16th.
We are using this as an opportunity to raise money for charity and have chosen the University's First Generation Scholarship Programme, seeking to raise £2,000 to fund one scholarship for a future student to join the University.
We aim to start the final climb between 10:00 - 10:30 on Sunday 16th July from the Pen-y-Pass carpark, going up the Pyg Track and returning down the Miners Track. We would be trilled for any supporters to join us in undertaking the final peak. If you are wanting to join us, please be mindful that parking at Pen-y-pass carpark is limited and needs to be booked in advance. There are a few other opinions of where to park, including the use of a shuttle service. More information can be found here. If you do want to join us, please do reach you so we can keep in touch on the day.
Thank you for your support.
