Story
This year, we’re taking on the 23 mile Mighty Stride at the Glasgow Kiltwalk to raise money for East Dunbartonshire Women's Aid.
It’s slightly outside our comfort zone... we’re much more familiar with a stroll in the park with a coffee, but we’re proud to be taking on the challenge for such an important cause.
We’re aiming to raise £500, and every donation will make a vital difference to the families we support. Funds raised will go directly towards equipping our refuge homes for women and children fleeing domestic abuse, providing the essentials that help turn emergency accommodation into a safe and welcoming space, as well as supporting with summer trips and activities for the families who access our support.
In Scotland, 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. EDWA plays a vital role in supporting women and children across East Dunbartonshire who have experienced domestic abuse, offering emotional and practical support and safety. We also deliver our prevention project, LOVESMART, working with young people to raise awareness of domestic abuse, challenge misogyny and empower them to build healthy relationships, helping to prevent violence against women and girls.
If you’re able to donate, whether it’s £5, £10 or more, we would be incredibly grateful. Your support will help us reach our target and continue providing safe spaces and meaningful support for our local families.
Thank you for supporting us (and our legs),
Bonnie, Jodie & Amy xxx
