Edward's fundraiser for Cancer Research UK

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have entered Manchester Marathon 2025 and I have bagged myself a charity place. If you have any spare change I would be most grateful if you could support my fundraiser. Any donation is most welcome.
Cancer Research UK is a well known charity that conducts pioneering research into how to prevent, diagnose and treat all types of cancer.
My dad, Christopher Armitage, died from Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumours on 15th May 2017. He was an exceptionally hard working, witty and intelligent man. But most importantly, he was tremendously kind, honest, and fair.
His mental resilience and physical strength was simply unmatched and even when he was formally diagnosed, he was unyielding to the illness that was taking hold.
Mum, Jim and I often reminisce at how Dad's consultant at the Royal Free Hospital in London misjudged his terminal prognosis - predicting 6 months to live when in fact it was only one - because he had been able to operate as someone who was far healthier than he actually was. Truly courageous.
He was spectacular in every sense of the word and his family miss him dearly.
I have been informed by my brother that dad's grandson, young Master William Christopher Armitage, will be in attendance in Manchester, so I am sure he will be able to get me over the finish line!
Thank you so much again for giving this page a read and for your donations.
As ever,
Ed
