The Charity:
I am raising money for local community projects around Forest Hill and Sydenham and have chosen to support Sydenham Garden.
Sydenham Garden have an initiative called Sow and Grow which is a core project of Sydenham Garden. It aims to support people in the early stages of dementia to live well.
They use gardening, cooking, art, music and Cognitive Stimulation Therapy, as well as opportunities for reminiscence, reflection and discussion. Through these activities, participants can experience a holistic program of therapy that helps them to improve their cognitive skills, feel more socially included and have a better quality of life.
Sow and Grow is one of many fantastic initiatives at Sydenham Garden and is close to my heart as my family has been affected by dementia.
The Challenge:
I will be taking on a 12 month fitness challenge with a monthly workout to complete. 12 workouts over 12 months from a possible pool of 16.
Quite a few of the workouts I do not know if I can even complete and I will aim to complete every monthly challenge solo and in one sitting.
If you would like to follow me on this journey I will be documenting the next 12 months of work and giving regular updates on progress.
