Story
On 11th September, I’ll be taking on the Snowdon at Night challenge alongside fellow colleagues from Domino’s, hiking Wales’ highest mountain after dark to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.
This is more than just a physical challenge for me. I’m doing this in memory of my sister, Lizzie, who tragically lost her life to cancer when she was just 16 years old in 1990. Experiencing cancer at such a young age is devastating, not only for the individual, but for their whole family. Her experience is something that has stayed with me ever since, and this challenge feels like a meaningful way to honour her and support others facing cancer far too young.
Why Teenage Cancer Trust?
Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to meeting the specialist needs of young people aged 13–24 with cancer. Cancer at this stage of life brings unique challenges in education, relationships, mental health, and identity all on top of gruelling treatment.
The charity funds specialist nurses and youth workers who provide life‑changing care and emotional support, helping young people feel understood, less alone, and better equipped to cope with everything a cancer diagnosis brings.
About the challenge 🌙
Snowdon at Night is a demanding overnight hike, testing both physical and mental resilience, but every step is worth it knowing it helps young people facing cancer get the care, dignity, and support they deserve.
My fundraising target is £500, and every donation—big or small—will make a real difference.
Thank you
If you’re able to donate, share, or leave a message of support, it truly means the world to me. Thank you for helping me honour my sister’s memory and for supporting young people with cancer today.
💜 Together, we can make sure no young person faces cancer alone.
