RSBC believe every blind child and their family should have the skills and confidence they need to live their life without limits.

Story

In April 2026 I’ll be taking on the London Marathon to raise money for the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC).

This isn’t just about running a race. It’s about our son, William. He’s 9 years old, full of life, and always ready with a smile.

William also has Nystagmus – something neither Catherine nor I had even heard of before he was born. It means his eyes move constantly, and his vision is severely impaired. Everyday things that most of us take for granted are much harder for him.

Nystagmus can’t be cured, but that doesn’t stop William. He faces the world with bravery and determination, and he inspires us every single day. As his parents, we want more people to know about Nystagmus, so that children like William are better understood and supported.

Running a marathon will be tough, but compared to the challenges William faces daily, and will have to face in the coming years, it’s nothing.

If you’re able to support me – whether with a donation, a share, or just a word of encouragement – it would mean the world to me, and it will make a real difference to so many families.

That’s why I’m running for RSBC. They do incredible work helping children and young people with sight loss to grow in confidence, find their independence, and achieve their dreams. Every pound raised will go towards giving children like William the opportunities and support they deserve.

Thank you so much.
