Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am proud to be running the London Marathon for SeeAbility who specialise in supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism, who may also have sight loss, to live ambitious lives & achieve things they never thought possible. Whether that is forming more friendships & relationships, enjoying new experiences & activities or finding employment.

People with learning disabilities are 10 times more likely to have serious vision problems. Yet around 90% live with some form of communication difficulty, which can make accessing standard eye care incredibly challenging. As a result, many people live with undiagnosed or untreated sight issues that affect their independence, confidence and overall quality of life.

SeeAbility are addressing this by providing accessible eyecare through community optical practices & special schools programs, employment support and tailored support & accommodation for those with learning disabilities and/or autism. SeeAbility also research & campaign for better eyecare & accessibility within the NHS.

Sadly goverment & NHS funding for these services is very limited meaning SeeAbility's mission is dependant on charitable donation to continue this vital work. Any donation great or small is hugely appreciated and will go directly to improving quality of life for people who are too often overlooked.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you very much for your support :)
