In 2018 we lost our first child, Raphael, very suddenly to meningitis. It was shortly before his third birthday. We were helped through the utter devastation by PETALS, a charity which works with bereaved parents, and we will always be thankful to them for their support and advice.

On 14th September my colleague Dan Quinn and I will, in a monumental act of folly, be swimming 2 miles/3.2km in the cold and murky Serpentine. We will be raising funds for PETALS, whilst simultaneously trying to dodge hypothermia and waterborne pathogens… Any donations would be very gratefully received.
