Story
Well November is coming around so it's time to do the Red Run again to benefit The Food Chain. I have been a volunteer with them for most of the last 22 years and enjoyed it and met wonderful people.
For clarity I don't run (unless being chased) and will do the 5K walk at my brisk pace of 45 minutes or 4mph.
If you are one of my friends in Nigeria and see this on social media please do NOT feel the need to give to a UK charity but if funds allow please consider something appropriate in Nigeria whether HIV related or any other good cause. Keeping the funds closer to home always makes sense.
THANK YOU!
The FoodChain exists to ensure people living with HIV in London can access the nutrition they need to get well, stay well and lead healthy, independent lives.
People living with HIV often struggle to access the food they need to stay well, because of ill health, poverty, isolation, a lack of motivation to eat well, or limited skills or knowledge.
Every service user is referred by a health or social care professional who has identified them in need of nutritional support. Each service user receives a Personalised Nutrition Care Plan designed specifically to meet their needs. By offering a tailored package of support, at the appropriate time, we help people to lead healthy, independent lives.
We deliver meals and groceries, offer cookery and nutrition classes and communal eating opportunities to people living with HIV in London and their dependents.
