Story
I'm running this half marathon to honor the memory of my late father and raise awareness about the profound impacts of lifestyle and type 2 diabetes. My father was a kind, selfless man who dedicated his life to supporting and loving his family. He struggled with type 2 diabetes, a condition that requires not only resources but also profound lifestyle changes to manage. Unfortunately, the health challenges became too great, and he passed away far too young, leaving behind a legacy of love and sacrifice.
His journey was a heartbreaking reminder of how difficult it can be for so many people—especially those in underserved communities—to prioritize their health while carrying the weight of family responsibilities.
I’m running with Diabetes UK to shed light on the struggles many individuals and families face in preventing and managing type 2 diabetes. This cause is deeply personal to me, and I hope that through this effort, I can inspire others to prioritize their health, advocate for better support systems, and raise funds to help those affected by this condition.
Your support—whether through donations or by spreading the message—can make a tangible difference in raising awareness, promoting education, and providing resources for individuals and families in need.
