Story
Fy enw i yw Efan a ddwi'n mynd i Ysgol Gymraeg Cwm Gwyddon. Ddwi'n 9 mlwydd oed. Ar y 2ail o Ebrill ddwi'n mynd i trio her 3 mynydd gyda fy Dad Mark a fy Wncl Ricky.
My name is Efan. I am 9 years old and am a pupil at Ysgol Cwm Gwyddon in Abercarn. On 2nd April, I am attempting to complete the Welsh Three Peaks challenge with my Dad Mark and my Uncle Ricky.
The Welsh Three peaks involves trekking to the summit of 3 mountains, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Cader Idris and Pen Y Fan, in less than 24 hours. I will be walking around 20 miles and ascending over 9000 feet.
I have been asking my Dad if I can do this challenge for a couple of years as I have enjoyed hill walking with my family and friends since I was 5. I like keeping active and also enjoy gymnastics, kickboxing and swimming.
A year ago, my headteacher was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Mrs Tucknutt has been supported through her treatment by the doctors, nurses and all of the other specialist staff at Velindre Cancer Hospital and I would like to raise awareness of the special work that they do by completing the Welsh Three peaks for Velindre.
I have already helped fundraising for Velindre with my school by taking part in the Wear Red for Wales 2023 campaign. It was really exciting when Sam Warburton came to our school and took part in the fun activities that my school year organised for all of our school friends.
I would like to continue helping to raise awareness of Velindre Hospital and would be very grateful if you would kindly sponsor me for this exciting challenge. Velindre has played an important part in helping Mrs Tucknutt get well again.
Diolch yn fawr iawn
Thank you so much
Efan
Velindre, the Hospital of Hope has been providing specialist treatment and supportive care to cancer patients and families for over 65 years.
Money raised for Velindre Charity helps fund ground breaking research and clinical trials, cutting edge treatments, specialist nurses, support services, therapies, equipment and so much more which are above those provided by the NHS – so donations really do have a significant impact on patients and their families.
Your donation will allow Velindre to continue to provide Hope for the future.
