What an experience, a massive shout out to the Borders Water Rescue Team for the support in the water and to all the volunteers helping us in and out of the river, especially out, as I was a bit wobbly on my pins. A well organised and superbly managed event in every way, well done Lynda and Take to the Water, the Rotary Club and everyone who volunteered their time. And a special thank you to my girls who gave me a massive surprise by coming to the finish line to meet me, you are wonderful. 🏊🏻‍♀️9.5K 🏊🏻‍♀️

The Borders Water Rescue Team provides water based search, rescue & recovery service in conjunction with the emergency services. They are a volunteer team, including Rescue3 qualified personnel who are able to assist with search and rescue of those individuals who have got into trouble in our many areas of water. In addition, they provide health and safety support for many water based community activities such as Common Riding water crossings, film sets & large scale obstacle courses.

They are an essential service on our doorstep providing peace of mind. You never know when any of us will require and be hugely grateful for their commitment and services.
