Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
25/7/23 update: As you will have been advised, I had to withdraw from the event on 23/4/23, due to hitting a pothole whilst cycling two days before the event & injuring my shoulder & hip, so could not swim or run. However, as you have all been so generous in your giving, I committed to completing a 'solo' sprint triathlon once my injuries healed. I am delighted to let you know that I completed a sprint triathlon yesterday, 24/7/23, with a 750m swim at Maryhill pool, a 20km cycle on the canal and finally a 5km run on the canal And I managed to be under 2 hours - just! Thank you for all your support to help me raise founds for the Trauma Therapy Trust.
I am participating in the Triathlon to fundraise for The Trauma Therapy Trust because I believe it gives people the chance for recovery.
I have been involved in supporting the Trauma Therapy Trust for several years now & I believe their work is invaluable. This small Glasgow-based charitable organisation provides free high-quality trauma therapy for people with post traumatic stress disorder and also organises affordable trauma training to mental health professionals. The Trauma Trust works in partnership with three organisations that support people who have been affected by trauma, abuse and neglect and who are least likely to be able to pay for therapy privately.
I hope you feel able to contribute to the work of this charity with a donation. Thank you for your support as you encourage me in my endeavour to complete the Triathlon challenge & my fundraising goal.
