Story
Eileen: I am taking part in a 1700 m Cross-Country race in Crystal Palace, London, to raise funds for orphans and vulnerable children at the Kuunika Foundation in Malawi, South-East Africa.
The Kuunika Foundation is a charity that was founded in 2007 to support orphans and vulnerable children and their communities. Kuunika helps those most in need in many ways, including with food, education and health care.
Since the founding of the charity, there have been more and more natural disasters and weather events (also due to Global Warming) in the South of Malawi, where the Kuunika children live. Last year the terrible Cyclone Freddy damaged not only people’s houses/ huts, but also their crops - and this year, the harvests might not be good either, because hot weather without enough rain has been forecasted. This means that many children and their families go hungry.
I would therefore like to raise funds so that Kuunika Foundation can buy more food for the orphans and vulnerable children that they support in Chirimba, in Southern Malawi.
