Story

Hi my name is Eilidh,

On January 25th, I will be taking part in the Four Waterfalls Walk in the Brecon Beacons to raise money for a field hospital to be built for Palestinian refugees near the border of Gaza.

As I set off for the hike, it will mark exactly a year since I lost my left lung to a rare form of lung cancer. I can't imagine what my life would have looked like if I hadn't been able to access immediate medical care.

Israeli forces have devastated nearly all of Gaza’s vital infrastructure. This includes hospitals, water and sanitation systems. Thousands of Palestinians face life-threatening injuries and need urgent medical attention but are without access to any form of health care.

This is why I will be walking with Palestinian Societies from 11 Universities in solidarity with the Palestinian people to raise money for this important cause.

The hospital will be based in a safe location within reachable distance from the Gaza border and will be supplied with all the necessary equipment to treat those with severe and life-threatening injuries. This hospital will make a huge difference to those who greatly need it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Any donations are really appreciated.

About the charity:

“Al Mustafa's journey began in November 1983 on a small scale by a group of highly motivated intellectuals, social workers, lawyers, doctors, engineers and business executives, who all had the passion for philanthropy. Over 40 years since their formation, Al Mustafa Welfare Trust has provided medical care, education, food aid, poverty relief, famine relief, and community development in disaster areas, war-torn countries, and many rural and poverty-stricken areas of the world.

Al Mustafa has been working in Gaza and the West Bank for a number of years already on various projects and that track record and earned trust has led them to be at the forefront of the efforts in Palestine since October last year.”
