TimeNorfolk provides wellbeing support to anyone in Norfolk and Waveney who experiences mental health challenges due to pregnancy loss at any stage, baby loss or pregnancy choices.

Story

I found out about Time Norfolk and the work they do from a midwife when we experienced our third miscarriage. After a phone call and a face to face consultation they were able to set me up with a counsellor for some one to one sessions to help me work through our loss and begin to move forward again. The support that I received from Time Norfolk was incredible and completely invaluable, especially during the early stages of our most recent pregnancy, which was a very anxious time for us. Time Norfolk helped me to feel more like myself again and move out from under the cloud of sadness and anxiety I was under after our losses.

One of the big strategies we came up with to help me was to make time for self care, which for me includes making time for myself to get out and get some exercise. So on that note, feeling inspired by Tom doing the 2023 London Marathon, I decided to put my name in the ballot for 2024. When I got the email telling me I was in I thought what better way to give something back to the team at Time Norfolk than to put all that running 'self-care' to a good cause and use it to raise some money for them.

I am slightly terrified at the challenge I have set myself. From couch to marathon in under a year! I am determined to do it for me, for the four little ones we never got to meet, and for everyone, especially the team at Time, who supported us through those difficult times.
