eir Challenge 2025 for Special Olympics Ireland

eir Challenge 2025
Thomas Lynch, open eir interconnect manager and Dylan McEvoy, open eir field technician, are taking their fundraising to new heights. On Friday, 20th they'll abseil 150ft from Croke Park's iconic Hogan stand in aid of Special Olympics Ireland.
With more than 45 years in eir, Thomas said he feels it is time to take on a real challenge. Combining his love of Gaelic Games and his admiration for the Special Olympics young athlete programme, the choice of challenge was easy.
"The young athletes programme brings enormous benefit to the athletes both now and with their future development. My challenge is to Abseil from the roof of Croke Park. Your challenge is to donate whatever you can afford to support Special Olympics Ireland with this wonderful programme," Thomas said.
While Dylan said his inspiration behind taking on this challenge is to raise much needed funds to support the athletes, helping them show their skills and abilities on a world stage.
"They've always done so well for Ireland so it's great to be able to take on this challenge to help raise funds for them," he said.
Thank you in advance for your support.

The date for the 2025 annual eir Challenge will be confirmed. We will once again be raising money for the Special Olympics Young Athletes programme. Over the last 12 years funds raised by eir employees through the eir Challenge has meant that SOI have been able to open 38 Young Athletes clubs across Ireland, with two new Young Athletes clubs in 2023. These clubs support the delivery of play and sport activities to 586 Young Athletes with intellectual disabilities between the ages of 4 and 12 years old, with numbers increasing steadily each year as the programme grows.
