Story
Hi everyone,
On 15th August my husband Jake, my cousin Jack and I will be taking on the Race the Train – Rotary Challenge in Tywyn. It’s a brutal 14-mile race where you run alongside (and basically up!) the Talyllyn Railway, climbing your way up the hills and trying to beat the train to the finish.
We are raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, who have been an incredible support for my dad since his cancer diagnosis in February. Their care, advice and reassurance has meant so much to our family during a really difficult time.
The funniest part is that this challenge started as a bad joke… After my dad and Jake completed the race last year, I said I’d do it next year if he didn’t fancy it, despite being a complete non-runner at the time. Somehow that joke has turned into months of training and a very real event ahead!
This will definitely be the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it feels so worthwhile knowing we’re doing it for a cause that helps so many people when they need it most.
Any donation, big or small, would mean the world and will help Macmillan continue the amazing work they do.
Thank you so much for your support ❤️
