Story

In Venezuelan slang, a pana is a friend, a mate, someone from your community.

So Panas4Panas means friends coming together for friends, using music, dance and solidarity to support people affected by the earthquake in Venezuela.

Join us at Vinyl Whistle to start the carnival weekend with a Latin Caribbean sound system party raising funds for UNICEF earthquake relief efforts in Venezuela.

On Wednesday 24 June, two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela just seconds apart, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude. At least 1,450 people have died and more than 3,150 have been injured, with numbers likely to rise.

This is the most significant seismic event to hit the country in more than a century.

The impact has been widespread. In Caracas and the states of Aragua, Carabobo, Falcón, La Guaira and Miranda, homes, schools and hospitals have been badly damaged or destroyed.

UNICEF estimates that 1.8 million people, including 680,000 children, now need urgent help.
