I’m turning 50 in April 2026, and I’ll also be running the London Marathon. To mark this milestone, I’d like to use the occasion as an opportunity to give back. The Wren Bakery works with women in Leeds who face multiple barriers everyday. Experiences such as poverty, gender based violence, criminal records and poor mental health prevent them from participating in the benefits that well-being and employment can bring.

It exists to reach these women, and other hidden groups in for whom the challenges they face have a devastating impact on their lives and their ability to work.

The Wren Bakery believes in second chances and sees the potential in every one of these women.

We aim to empower and equip them to hope for a future, and give them the tools to obtain it.
