Elaine's London Marathon fundraiser for HEART UK 2025

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
Its been 10 years since my last marathon and two foot operations, two broken arms and 10 years older, I am back out there, pounding the streets training for London. On a long training run I find myself questioning my life choices but I have the determination and the physical ability to complete a marathon which some people are not fortunate enough to have, so here I am! I'm finding the training tough but I'm motivated by the people I meet who cannot even think about running a marathon such as patients I meet through my job and that's why I chose Heart UK to fund raise for.
Heart UK are an amazing charity who support people and families with an inherited heart condition which affects people of all ages, it really is non discriminative. Their vital work helps to ensure that genetic testing is available for these families whilst also providing advice and much needed support. We all know someone affected by heart disease and we see the impact and devastation it can cause, so whilst my heart is healthy, I want to raise money to help those less fortunate.
I'm so grateful that you have visited my page and any amount of money you can donate, no matter how small will help someone somewhere. It will also motivate me to train hard through the winter months and get round a gruelling 26.2 miles on race day!
So thank you from the bottom of my healthy heart for your love, support and donations which really will make a difference to people and families who are struggling right now either with the death of a loved one or a nasty diagnosis of heart disease.
Together we can make a difference.
Much love
Elaine xx
