Story
A team from the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) is to undertake a walking challenge in memory of former colleague Tim Woodward who sadly passed away last year following a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Tim supported members with their CLA enquires for more than a decade, becoming a trusted adviser on all matters of land management. He regularly represented members’ interests at meetings across the region and developed long term relationships with a range of stakeholders, with whom he was well respected.
Around 20 of his colleagues are to walk a target distance as a team of 2644 miles in July. That would be the equivalent of walking from the CLA East office near Newmarket to a favourite destination of Tim’s in Scotland, followed by a visit to each CLA office in a circular route. And then the same route in reverse.
This will require each person to walk nearly 126 miles across the 31 days of July.
We will be raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK, a cause very close to Tim and those closest to him.
We are Pancreatic Cancer UK.
We go above and beyond for everyone affected by this disease. Right now, half of people with pancreatic cancer die within three months of diagnosis. Families are left with only hope to hold onto. They need more. So, we do more.
We bring more breakthroughs through research, more change through campaigning, and more support through our expert nurses. We make more noise because people have gone unheard. We are relentless because the disease is ruthless. We care more because people feel forgotten.
