Story
I've finally bitten the bullet and have signed up for the Leicester Half Marathon on Sunday 11th October 2026. I told myself I'd challenge myself to do a half marathon before I turn 40(!) and running around Leicester seems entirely appropriate given it was where I grew up.
It also gives me the chance to raise much needed funding for LOROS Hospice, a charity very close to my heart as they looked after Mum (and us) before she died in 2019. They, like many hospices, are struggling for funding and I want them to be able to continue to offer dignity, kindness and care to terminally ill patients and their families for a long time to come.
LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
